WASTE WATER TREATMENT – NEW TECHNOLOGIES
Repeated usage of treated waste water has been identified as a priority by the European Commission. In 2013 this technology has been declared as a viable alternative water source mainly in the regions with limited natural resources of drinking water. In 2015 a research focused on the quality of treated waste water and its utilization for agricultural purpose and for renewal of underground water started. Biological system of waste water treatment by a „membrane settler“ provides new technical, technology, operation and legislation possibilities in practice. The membrane incorporated in the treatment process has become a mean to fulfill the EU requirements and the mankind needs worldwide.
WASTE WATER TREATMENT PROCESS WITH MEMBRANE SETTLER
By sewage pipeline, waste water is delivered to the WWTP located in a building basement. After the treatment in the plant that includes a membrane technology and after subsequent treatment, water is pumped to the service water tank installed in the upper part of a building. This service water from the upper tank is distributed inside the house for house cleaning, toilets and gardening.
MEMBRANE SETTLER
After several years of research, the technology that enables to substitute filtration for simple sedimentation was introduced to the market. Treated waste water after filtration achieves few times better quality than by a conventional technology. New technology of a membrane settler therefore presents a revolutionary change in waste water treatment by separation of sludge substrate from the treated waste water. Using a „biological system with a membrane settler“ enables to adjust the parameters of WWTP for more favourable conditions. The construction unit of sedimentation tank is excluded along with the related operation demands. Operation and purification process can be controlled by a remote control system and operating cost can be reduced.

RECYCLING – POSSIBILITIES AND PROSPECTS OF UTILIZATION OF TREATED WASTE WATER AFTER A MEMBRANE FILTRATION
Membrane filtration creates new conditions in the technology process of treatment and provides for a high quality of purified waste water with a possibility of further utilization. Cleaned waste water becomes a product for further utilization, i.e. for recycling. Prospects and future consists in introducing this technology with a membrane settler to all levels of waste water treatment for small, medium as well as large residential districts.

WHAT ARE RECYCLING AND TREATED WASTE WATER UTILIZATION POSSIBILITIES?
In family houses: Treated waste water from WWTP with a membrane filtration will be accumulated in the tank from which it is possible to further take off water to be used as a service water for gardening purpose or toilets by installing a double water piping system inside the house.
In residential districts: Waste water from the residential districts are delivered to the central membrane WWTP. After cleaning, water is accumulated in the tank and pumped to the use point either for gardening purpose, or as sanitary water.
In city and shopping centers and industrial centers: Waste water is delivered to WWTP in the building basement by sewage piping. After the treatment in WWTP with a membrane technology and further treatment, water is pumped to service water tank located in the upper part of the building. From sanitary water piping it is distributed to use points for rooms cleaning, for toilet and gardening.
